Our client was committed to staying in their community but had outgrown their current home. After landing on the perfect neighborhood, they purchased a new home which would require some renovations to work for their family and take on their style. Unfortunately, the kitchen left a lot to be desired. It had an angled island with insufficient prep space, an awkward off-center sink that was undersized for the kitchen, poor appliance placement, insufficient cabinetry, and a lackluster eat-in area. It did not offer the flow or functionality that they needed for their family. As the heart of their home, this space offered them no joy to work in.
Collaborating with the client, we were able to quickly identify their pain points and develop a design plan and scope that checked every box. The renovation heavily focused on creating a better layout and flow in the kitchen, making the eat-in area feel fully integrated and connected to the kitchen, tying the small butler’s pantry into the kitchen and updating the floors throughout.
This was achieved with small structural changes that allowed us to use the budget on upgraded finishes, including custom cabinetry and lighting fixtures as well as the feature of this kitchen design: a waterfall island with end panels that were fabricated to match the end panel design of the cabinetry. This was no small feat. In addition, a full quartz backsplash was carried throughout the kitchen for a sleek, transitional look and easy cleaning. Adjacent to the kitchen, a new eat-in area was built and included a fully functional bench seat with two floor to ceiling pantries flanking each side adding even more storage for the family.
Creative teamwork and strategic layout changes allowed us to deliver on all our clients’ desires resulting in a true chef’s kitchen, with transitional appeal and beautiful custom touches throughout.
